J. Bruce Carruthers II, B.A., M.S.
Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Carruthers has over 40 years of experience in the exploration, development and production of natural resources (mining and petroleum). In 1992, as Operator for Inco, Mr. Carruthers directed the exploration program responsible for the $500 million Loma Blanca Borate discovery in Argentina. He was also responsible for the reactivation of the Tasna gold and bismuth mine in Bolivia, which was subsequently sold, along with eight other South American properties, to Corriente Resources. Previously, Mr. Carruthers worked for 16 years in management with Occidental Petroleum Corp., and seven years with Texaco (New York) and Mobil Oil in Tripoli, Libya.
Eric A. Gavin, B.S.
Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Finance and Administration
Mr. Gavin has almost twenty years of experience managing the financial and administrative activities for various public and private natural resource exploration companies, including the past fourteen years for Q-Gold and its predecessor company.
Robert Bryce, P.Eng., MBA
Mr. Bryce has almost 50 years of practical and executive mining experience at all levels, including leading the Selbaie project from an advanced exploration project through feasibility to a 7,500 tpd producing mine and Quebec's largest base metal producer for a quarter century. From 1990 to 1994, Mr Bryce was VP Mining for Aur Resources where he led the $ 280,000,000 development and start-up of the 4,000 tpd Louvicourt Cu-Zn-Ag-Au mine near Val-d'Or, Quebec.He is a director of several listed junior resource companies and a technical advisor to others.
Mr. Bell brings extensive business knowledge and experience to Q-Gold and is currently Director of Merchandising for Sysco Victoria Inc.
